About Us

Our free YouTube Video Transcript Generator turns any YouTube video into readable text. We built it because getting the text of a video should take seconds, not a subscription, a browser extension, or a sign-up form.

What we do

Paste a YouTube link and we show you the video’s full transcript, with timestamps you can click, a search box, language switching, and one-click TXT and SRT downloads. The transcript is taken from the video’s existing captions, which keeps it fast and accurate to what the creator (or YouTube) published.

Who it’s for

Students reviewing lectures, bloggers repurposing videos, researchers checking quotes, language learners reading along, and anyone who would rather skim a video than sit through it.

Our guides

On the blog we publish practical, tested guides on everything to do with YouTube transcripts and captions. If something is out of date or unclear, please tell us and we will fix it.

Independence

The YouTube Video Transcript Generator is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by YouTube or Google LLC. “YouTube” is a trademark of Google LLC.
